The municipality of Rotterdam (The Netherlands) has chosen for the electric Silence scooters via a large tender. In the following 4 years around 200 scooters will be purchased for the Supervision and Enforcement department.
The Silence scooter is no stranger to the municipality of Rotterdam. At the end of 2016 they tested the e-scooter, after which the large range of up to 180 km on one battery charge was the reason to purchase around 30 Silence scooters. Two years later, the confidence in the Silence was officially confirmed by the planned purchase of around 200 scooters. These are delivered and maintained over a period of four years by the Rotterdam dealer Allbikes.
The large range of the Silence is not the only reason for the positive outcome of the tender. The excellent seating position is also a great advantage according to Roteb Lease, fleet manager of the municipality of Rotterdam. “The Silence scooter is more spacious than other scooters, making it very comfortable to drive,” said account manager René van Benten back in 2016. The Silence is one of the few e-scooters that has been specially developed for business use. This is reflected, among other things, in the robust B2B chassis and the large loading capacity of 175 kg.
In the Netherlands in addition to Rotterdam, various postal companies, security guards, meal delivery staff, driving schools, municipalities such as The Hague, Groningen, Tilburg and ‘s-Hertogenbosch have already opted for the Silence. The e-scooter is developed and produced by the Spanish company Silence by Scutum. This applies to both the frame and the batteries. The company has a production capacity of 10,000 scooters and 20,000 batteries per year. Behind the company are the strong investors Repsol (oil company) and the Caixa bank. This makes Silence very strong in the field of product development. For example, the Silence S03 is currently being presented, the three-wheeled version of the current model, the S02. The SO3 offers even greater cargo options.
E-Milers.com B.V. is the exclusive importer of the Silence scooters in the Netherlands.
