Silence has closed an investment round of 8.6 million euros that will allow the company to continue promoting sustainable urban mobility. Its reference partners, Repsol, Caixa Capital Risc and CDTI, together with Avançsa, have participated in this round of financing, reaffirming their commitment to the leading company in the Spanish market for electric motorcycles for companies.
The main objective of the investment round is to promote the industrialization and launch of two new electric scooters during 2018: S01 and S03. The model for individuals S01 has been designed to facilitate the integration of the electric scooter in the city, thanks to its removable battery system trolley type that, unlike its competitors, allows to transport and recharge in a comfortable and safe way the “Power Battery Pack” anywhere without having to carry its weight. On the other hand, the S03 model is a three-wheeled scooter specially designed for last mile delivery thanks to its greater load capacity, which allows to maximize the transported volume while maintaining a high stability and agility.
Carlos Sotelo, founder and CEO of SILENCE, highlights “the arrival of the new electric scooters S01 and S03 will allow us to boost and accelerate the zero emission mobility in our cities”.
Mobility connected and shared
The company hopes to continue leading the national market of motorcycles for companies with its current model S02, a reference in the sector, whose new version already incorporates new features in terms of connectivity, fleet management and sharing operations.
Recently several motosharing with the model S02 have been launched. The American shared mobility company SCOOT Networks, has landed in Barcelona with 500 units; and in Zurich, the Mobility Group has started a sharing with 200 units. Also, Silence is currently completing the manufacture of more than 1,100 units for a large Spanish company, which enters fully into this growing and new business of motosharing.
In just two years, SILENCE has increased its turnover from € 0.5m to € 4.1m, putting into circulation more than 1,800 electric scooters. So far this year, the company has already exceeded the turnover of 2017 and expects to reach 2,700 units sold this year.
In parallel, the company has grown significantly and currently has a factory with capacity to produce 10,000 units per year per shift, and a staff of more than 60 professionals.
SILENCE has started a process of national and international expansion, reaching the final consumer through SILENCE Flagship Stores, physical stores that recreate the urban environment of a Smart City.
Palma de Mallorca, Girona and Granada are some of the locations that already have Flagship Stores, and it is expected to immediately open stores in Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Gijón, Santiago de Compostela and Las Palmas, among others.
